About Me

I am currently doing my PhD being part of the Computer Vision group headed by Michael Moeller and the Ubiquitous Computing group headed by Kristof Van Laerhoven at the University of Siegen. I did my Visiting PhD at the Mobile Health group headed by Cecilia Mascolo at the University of Cambridge.

Before doing my PhD, I received my bachelor’s degree (with distinction) in Information Systems from the University of Cologne. In 2017 I was awarded the DAAD RISE worldwide scholarship to spent three months at the Yale University under the supervision of Jakub Szefer and Ali Sunyaev. In 2020 I received my master’s degree (with honors) in Data Science from the University of Mannheim.

  • August 2025: We are organizing a workshop at NeurIPS called Learning to Sense.
  • August 2025: I gave a talk at the University of Bonn in front of the group of Juergen Gall.
  • August 2025: Our paper “Label Leakage in Federated Inertial-based Human Activity Recognition” was accepted at ISWC 2025 in Finland.
  • June 2025: I joined the UbiSense Workshop Technical Program Commitee at UbiComp/ ISWC 2025 in Finland.
  • May 2025: I won the 1st Prize at the ZESS PhD Research-Forum Lightning Talks.
  • April 2025: The second iteration of our WEAR Challenge has started! It will be again hosted at HASCA.
  • March 2025: I gave a talk on the complementarity of video and inertial data at Google in London.
  • March 2025: I joined the ISWC Technical Program Commitee for ISWC 2025 in Finland.
